As for us - we buy very specific, organic and natural herbs and plants picked at their peak seasonal cycle, in optimal growing environments worldwide, extract each one to its maximum potential from months to years, and then precisely combine them into ultimate skin and hair care. True love deluxe.

We know that no matter how well-intentioned farmers and chemists are, many 'certified organic' products are mistakenly sprayed by nearby agriculture, or intentionally altered by growers to enhance yield, etc, while skirting the rules. The laws of each country are different, and may be the least stringent in the USA. Many loopholes allow fertilized and sprayed plants to be sold as organic or certified organic that are not. Just as important is the presence of other man-made toxins added long after plants are harvested and certified and sold, no matter what moniker is on the label. Plus chemicals added to preserve or import these so-called organic products are often overlooked.

We go with the most naturally grown plants from producers we have known for 20 years, then inspect each harvest at our lab with special instruments and toxin detectors, ensuring that no harsh chemicals exist. Many of our ingredients are organic, even certified organic, yet we find it unimportant to mention this elsewhere in our sales literature, since overall integrity is what you are buying. Through our processing we are able to identify if any chemicals or pesticides have been used. Chemicals and pesticides are usually acid and produce a pH lower than 7.1. Because of this, you can test your current skin and hair care line(s) by using pH test strips available at many drug and health food stores.

However, some manufacturers will elevate pH chemically or by other artificial means, which has to be watched out for because it is equally harsh on skin, just for different reasons. It fools the body into identifying the formula as good for it, causing the body to absorb chemicals and junk you do not want.

Be watchful of manufacturers that claim 'pH balanced to the skin.' Most of their products are at a pH of 5.6. Neutral pH is 7.0. Most AWARE SKIN products are 7.1 or above. Many scientists believe strange things about pH. Very few understand that higher than neutral pH is better, and even fewer know why. Clean healthy skin has a higher pH and less healthy skin has a lower pH. Higher pH means more bioactivity. Electrons move quicker producing phyto–energy that supports growth, repair, and rejuvenation.

Products that are 5.6 pH actually cause the body to work harder. They force the body to use it's own energy reserve to bring the pH of the skin back up 7.0 or higher so the product can be utilized. In many cases seemingly great formulas never penetrate the skin because the pH is too low and the skin is too unhealthy or over taxed to bring the pH high enough for the product to work properly.

Potential hydrogen or pH measures oxygen and bio-photon energy exponentially, like earthquakes. Meaning if an earthquake is 6.0, then a 7.0 earthquake is 10 times stronger and an 8.0 earthquake is 100 times stronger than 6.0. So with pH a difference from neutral of 7.0 to 8.0, produces 10 times more oxygen and 10 times greater biophoton activity, which makes it easier for clean products to be delivered to the cells and perform at full functionality.

Along these lines, very few chemists and formulators have a clue about the use of oil on the skin, and how it HAS to be water-soluble to do the skin any good, which usually means that the pH of the oil is 7.1 or above. They dream up exotic recipes with all the right buzz words, 'breakthrough plants', exotic oils, and aroma therapies without ever knowing if their choices combine rightly, enhance wellbeing, easily go rancid, or can even be utilized by skin cells in an appropriate way. If it sounds good – Do It! And promote the heck out of it. And surely you have bought it.

Plus formulators can offend the nutrients they blend together, with good intentions of course, by adding preservative, alcohol, sugar, surfactant, sulfate, aroma, rancid oil, fragrance, and other greatly disturbing irritants and artifacts – yet still legally call their products 'organic', 'natural', or 'nothing artificial'. You definitely have some of these products on your shelf, and most assuredly on your skin right now.

What's worse improper ingredients and imbalanced formulas smother the skin causing it to appear moist, yet beneath the surface trouble brews in the form of acids, bacteria, fungus, and molds. Worse yet, the products you are using have chemicals and improper pH, causing acids and negative reactions on the skin surface right from the start.
